ppint. 20th Jun 2022		argggh! yr hmbl srppnt. was wondering why this wasn't showing up in the right place(s), finally noticed the intrusive additional and superfluous ''.''. there is no such author as ''a..e. van vogt'' - leastways, not to the best of my knowledge, there isn't - and this new frank n. stein's rocky from an alternate reality should be expunged. . . (expungement formally requested, and replacement by alfred elton under his habitually-abbreviated real changed name has already been bookcatted.) ppint. 20th Dec 2017		once the indica printing history number-string was adopted by daw books, the first daw books mmpb has the full number string line in its indica: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9; the second printing should drop the "1", third the " 2"; and so on, for subsequent printings; but many - most - simultaneously-published first daw mmpb printings share merkin- printed covers between copies with canadadian-printed carcasses (or "books") intended for distribution north of the parallel, and wholly merkin-printed copies produced for general distribution: for most of the time, these all indicated first printings, and the next, that they were the third daw books mmpb printings. confusion could, and sometimes did arise when separate merkin and canadadian reprints were allocated printing numbers without reference to one another's reprinting schedules - - or even existence. near-identical editions/printings sharing merkin-printed covers and hence also cat#, isbn, cover art by greg theakston (signed, credited) b+w frontispiece by jack gaughan (signed with his "jg" monogram) near-meaningless daw books collector no. 385 cover price varies: cover price $2.25 (canadadian-carcassed copies) cover price $1.95 (wholly merkin-printed copies) 176pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising refer also to indica to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed no priority established nor liable to be, both stating first daw printing, may, 1980 and bearing full first printing number-string (this comment is from another edition of this book)
