Serialised as "The Wrecks of Time" under the pen name of James Colvin, in New Worlds magazine Vol 49 #156, November 1965; Vol 49 #157, December 1965 and Vol 49 #158, January 1966. 1st published in book form in the US in an edited form as The Wrecks Of Time in 1967. This, the 1st UK edition was the first time this story was published in full.
An interesting fact about the above mentioned New World magazines. Terry Pratchett's second commercially published story "Night Dweller" was published in #156. (His first "The Hades Business" was published in Science Fantasy magazine Vol 20 #60 August 1963). Also in this issue James Colvin reviews a book of short stories, "Weird Shadows From Beyond" which includes the Moorcock story "Master of Chaos". He says it's the only one of his "sword and sorcery" stories he has enjoyed.
In the book reviews in #158, once again as James Colvin he reviews the Moorcock novel "The Fireclown" and says "after the first few pages the writing becomes rather dull" "and is by no means as ambitious as his other work.
