ppint. 24th Mar 2018		appears to've been prepared by macfadden books for their third printing before bernarr macfadden's corporate mini monster was broken up, and macfadden books transmogrified into manor books: publishing history states all three printings were by manor books, thereby accounting this first manor books printing as manor books' third... cat# is a slightly ellided form of the macfadden books' cat# format°, in which the first two digits are the mmpbs' cover price in ¢, which would fit in with its having been scheduled and prepared for publication by macfadden as their intended thrid printing(/edition) immediately prior to their reorganisation into manor books, inc. ° - the hyphen being omitted (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 24th Mar 2018		still using the plates/typesetting of the first two/three (or four/six, depending upon how one accounts canadadian-carcassed printings, and whether the first manor books edition is what's recorded as the third macfadden books editions/printings) macfadden books printings published by macfadden books, variously part of the macfadden-bartel minimonsterconglomerate - to which manor books, inc. is/was the successor company; and which plates (typesetting), indeed, were used for the first two manor books editions/printings in 1973 & 1975. i've accounted this 1977 mmpb the second printing of the 1975 second manor books edition as it uses the same unattributed garish pinky-purple cover art as that, as distinct from the largely typographical cover of the 1973 first manor books mmpb edition; though this bears a new cat#.
