ppint. 6th Mar 2021		ace books small pocketbook format mmpb first printing, first edition half classic e'ace double'' format mmpb with two front covers, contents tête-beché to each other text of submitted ms. cut by c. 10,000 words, and then a further 7,000 words added, by the author, at ace editor don wollheim's demand: the 1956 rich & cowan uk h/cvr, ''world of chance'', follows the author's original 1955 ms., but is poorly copyedited. cover art unsigned, uncredited; attributed to ed valigursky in the ace image library cover price 35¢ ½ 320pp. including 2 x titles, indicia etc, advertising pp. in-between the double's halves doubled with ''the big jump'' leigh brackett (1955), q.v.
