ppint. 19th Dec 2019		1/1967 first ballantine books bal-hi p/b, reprinted 1/1967 (presumably before publication) near-identical 4/1967 thrid bal-hi printing near-identical 9/1967 fourth bal-hi printing 9/1968 fifth bal-hi printing bears new cat# 70002, 10/68 sixth bal-hi printing near-identical to this 2/1969 seventh bal-hi printing near-identical, 5/1969 eighth bal-hi printing near-identical refer to indica publishing history to distinguish between first four, and between second four printings. cover art by joseph mugnaini (retained from earlier ballantine books mmpb editions, credited) cover price 50¢ 152pp? including titles, indica etc, end pp. ballantine books do not seem to've accounted their "bal-hi" p/bs as mmpbs: they may've been primarily aimed at (?and distributed through?) high schools & colleges, and their cover price remained at 50¢ after their mmpbs' cover price rose to 60¢ and to 75¢. (needs more research and advice from them as knew the bal-hi publishing program). there is another 1/1967 ballantine books edition, their eighth mmpb printing, which lists the first 1/1967 bal-hi edition in its indica as separate from the previous seven mmpb printings. it has totally different (truffaut-directed film tie-in still) cover, credited to phillipe haksman, cover price 60¢ and cat# U5060. further ballantine books mmpb printings continue.
