ppint. 29th Jan 2019		commonly-used pseudonym of herman cyril mcneile, who also published as h. c. mcneile; bestowed upon him whilst he was a serving officer in the british army by the daily mail newspaper owner-publisher lord northcliffe. ''bull-dog'' or ''bulldog'' drummond was his extremely popular, racist and antisemitic violent thug of an army officer-turned-vigilante hero. (this comment is from another edition of this book)
