| David Whiteley 12th Oct 2020 | Added front and back covers of Mayflower's 2nd printing from 1973. 1st published in the US by Avon Books in an edited form. UK edition published in full. The first three Jerry Cornelius stories, "Preliminary Data" first published in New Worlds Vol 40 #153 August 1965 made up the first few and last few pages of this novel, followed by "Further Information" New Worlds Vol 49 #160 December 1965 and "Phase Three" New Worlds Vol 49 #60 added another 40 pages. The rest of the story is all new. Even though this is the first Jerry Cornelius novel, in his Note to the reader in the revised edition 1979 Moorcock says The Cornelius books could be read in any order. | |
