JimEss SUBS ● 18th Mar 2020		It's definitely Barye. I've since added others by him on Gold Medal and Signet. I'm paying attention to other artists as well, so I'm slowly learning. My normal practice is to add the artist in the notes if credited inside or on the back cover, but I don't interpret the signatures. One of the highlights of bookcat are the remarkable gallery views, especially for the paperback publishers. That will only get better, maybe someday select on genre. The artists will probably need to be put in lists. I've noticed that I can't sort my collection by publisher, perhaps a bug or a limitation. (this comment is from another edition of this book)

ppint. 31st Aug 2019		(having looked at only a few of the definite barye phillips signatures so far) i don't know - but it's definitely a better suggestion than "gmorphsz" ! i need to look at more examples - and get ready to catch the (hourly) bus... (some hours later:) no, i don't think so: the end squiggle's pretty good, but the main part doesn't really match - ah well, back to seeing what else people've made of fawcett group mmpb covers on various websites. . .)
