 near-identical editions/printings sharing merkin-printed covers and hence also cat#, and

cover price 95¢
cover art unattributed, unsigned
288pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising

refer to indica to see if carcass of the copy held was merkin- or canadadian- printed
no priority established nor liable to be, both stating first avon printing, august, 1969

 it's rather a sick kind of humour, mostly - but spinrad's so good at it. . .

 an isbn is attributed to this first yuk edition in some places, but appears nowhere upon it, nor in the indica. the sphere books ltd. cat# is printed sufficiently close to the lower edge of the book and its spine that the last digit has often been rubbed off by handling, and it appear to be only four digits long (i.e. 8086).

the novel is both a blackly humourous religious satire, and possessed of an at times broad, as well as irreverant, delight: but yr hmbl srppint.'d better read it again, before essaying any review.
