ppint. 18th Aug 2022		magnum books imprint mmpb undated first printing, not first p/b cover art by john duillo (signed, uncredited; re-used from lancer books mmpb first edition) cover price $1.50 224pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. almost identical with the 1972 lancer books mmpb, save for the removal of ''lancer'' from cover, title page, indica and its replacement in places with ''magnum'', and likewise of the logo. still declares it's a - now magnum - ''gothic original'' on the front cover. only date born is the copyright date of 1972, but these magnum mmpb books appeared during the messy bankruptcy of lancer books as someone had access to the plates (and the printers!) and seems to've sold these at a deep discount off the cover price, on firm sale terms only, c.1975 see also lodestone imprint mmpbs, and prestige books mmpbs distributed by ace books.
