photo-reproduced from ace books, inc.'s 1968 paperback first edition, so contents follow this except where noted (plus some credits added).

(uk edition identical save adding lines on title p. & indica re george prior publishers, southampton row, london (yuk) and the new isbn 0860431622; i don't know that this wasn't a run-on of the merkin edition bound with over-printed title p. rather than a real, wholly separately-printed yuk edition.)

ppint. 21st Dec 2023		publisher should^W has been emended from g. k. hall & co. to gregg press when this bookcat item was originally entered, the bookcat doctrine that the imprint should be entered as the publisher, not the publisher owning the imprint, had not been fully evolved, let alone clearly set down in carven stone tablets.



ppint. 10th Mar 2016		the gregg press library reprint series of classic sf & fantasy books was printed on acid-free paper that should last indefinitely, rather than crumbling with exposure to air & uv (e.g. in sunlight) as per standard merkin "mass-market paperbacks" & most modern h/cvrs printed on papers made from wood pulp.
