 the signet mmpbs' title is consistently hyphenated: "the dark light-years" through three merkin and one canadadian printings upon their title pages, though only upon the simultaneous first printings' covers.

note cover prices on top front cover of different parts of this first four square edition:

cover art uncredited, unsigned
cover price 3'6 (uk-of-gb-&-ni (and further afield) distributed copies)
cover price 6/- or 60¢ australian (copies exported thither and distributed thence,
bears "four square" above 4 square logo, above "worldplan", top left front cover)
160pp. including titles, indica etc.

i've no record, nor report, of whether the two are distinguishable in the indica,
nor therefore, whether new english library accounted them as parts of the same first printing.

there are three near-identical new english library printings/editions with this cover art and design: the first two (5/1971, 4/1972) bear the same (i)sbn, (0)450007103, and are distinguishable by reference to their indica;
the second printing is not mentioned in the indica of the third (3/1975), but this is readily identified as it bears a new (i)sbn, (0)450023060.
