ppint. 19th Feb 2018		despite being printed there, the "not for sale in canada" on the ballantine books limited edition is correct: ballantine books, inc. held those rights, and they were legally two separate entities. note also applies to various other ballantine books limited editions; pan/ballantine editions should either state published by ballantine books ltd. or (later) by pan books ltd. (when the distribution agreement with pan books ended, c.'74, futura publications ltd. signed up with ballantine to distribute various titles in the uk where ballantine books, inc. held world rights and had not sub-licenced these to another uk publisher.°) (° - this fairly important point being sometimes overlooked: e.g. at least one book by alan dean foster being simultaneously distributed in the uk in new english library p/b, and by futura in the imported ballantine mmpb bearing futura's logo-free but distinctive uk price sticker on the back cover) bearing cover prices in four (and a bit!) different currencies, for (more than) four different countries, this edition should be re-flagged "international" according to respected moderator's rule - or not so re-flagged, according to equally well-respected moderator's heartfelt plea
