David Whiteley 8th Jan 2021		From the copyright page: "Copyright MCMLXIX" (1969) "by Kent productions - 20th Century Fox Film Corp". No other date given. From Wikipedia: "the eponymous novel retitled The Trap". This does seem to be the first novel "The Land Of The Giants" (1968) with a new title. The first three chapters cover the preparation for launch, the flight and the landing of the Spindrift on the mystery planet. It also rnentions the previously vanished ships the Anne and the Marintha and includes the female survivor of the Anne, named Marjorie. So I think the first published date should be 1968.



ppint. 8th Jan 2021		if the first publication of this land of the giants novel was indeed 1969, it may be the novel that was also published as ''unknown danger'' (land of the giants #3) pyramid X-2105 (1969); if its first publication was actually 1968, it may be that which was published as ''land of the giants'' (land of the giants series (unnumbered: #1)) pyramid X-1846 (1968, 1968, 1968): if it is neither of the above, it may be a hitherto unreported fourth land of the giants novel by murray leinster; or there may be some confusion as to which land of the giants novels are in the land of the giants novels series, and which are not°; or, . . . ° - the novel published in h/cvr by whitman definitely does not appear to be in the series
