ppint. 11th May 2022		macfadden books simultaneous first mmpb printings sharing merkin-printed covers, first p/b edition cover art unsigned, uncredited photographic of diorama, sfaik as-yet unattributed cover price 60¢ 144pp. including titles, indicia etc, end p. advertising refer to indicia publishing history to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed no priority established nor liable to be, both state a macfadden book ... 1967 (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 11th May 2022		manor books mmpb first printing, stated second printing which includes the previous macfadden books mmpb edition (1967), suggesting that this edition was in preparation to be macfadden books' second printing prior to the selling-off of macfadden books to form manor books. cover art by jack faragasso (unsigned, uncredited; the head and immediate surrounds is a greatly-(over-)enlarged lower centre detail from that for macfadden books mmpb, ''the changeling'' a. e. van vogt (1969), q.v.) cover price 75¢ (cat# strongly suggests this was intended to be 95¢ - but there was a hiccup...) 144pp. including titles, indica etc, end p. advertising (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 14th May 2021		priory books first p/b printing, first uk edition cover art unsigned, uncredited (appears to've been "borrowed" from another book completely) cover price 30p, south africa 85c, australia $1.00, new zealand $1.00, canada $1.25 144pp. including titles, indica etc. i know of no occasion this edition was supplied to a book shop directly by priory books or via the book trade: i only ever saw it on-sale new as remainder, and suspect it was published as an instant remainder. nor do i know of its ever being distributed in any of the overseas territories in whose currencies it is also priced. printed in israel, which at this time paid little attention to minor details such as copyright infringements.
