ppint. 7th Sep 2019		subtitle is not "book 9" and this should^W has been deleted thence. n.b. there are (at least) three and a bit mutually incompatible series numberings of the conan/conan pastiche series, two and a half committed by lancer books, inc. on their mmpbs. - and this is excluding the order of publication of the gnome press merkin h/cvrs preceding lancer books, inc.'s series. iiuc the first lancer books series numbering was simply in order of first publication of their first printings; their second numbering was by internal chronology - with the caveat that at least one lancer book is a collection of stories scattered across conan's lifespan, and the twelfth did not get published by lancer books before they went - very messily - bankrupt.° ° - in a somewhat strange court decision, sphere books were permitted to ukp/b publish the book having licenced it from the (pre-) in-bankruptcy lancer; and ace books were allowed first to distribute the edition prepared by lancer as a prestige books mmpb, and then as an out-and-out ace books mmpb. yr hmbl srppnt. does not pretend to be au fait with the legal arguments pertaining thereunto.
