whilst i suspect manor books never owned a uk subsidiary, and the carcass of this book is ah, "remarkably similar" to the 1975 manor books, inc. mmpb from the old macfadden plates,

this edition bears only a uk cover price, and the legend,
"exclusive uk distributor
david gold & son (holdings) ltd.
units 16-17a rich industrial estate
london se1 england"

front cover and spine top are almost identical with the merkin mmpb, save for clumsy cut-outs leaving white rectangles in the black background where the merkin cover price was neatly(ish) inset.
bottom of spine retains the number-string, "532 * 95400 * 095"
of which the first element may be manor books' abn publisher code;
the second element is manor books' cat#
the thrid is the manor books, inc. mmpb cover price in cents - definitely irrelevant to this uk edition.

144pp. including 4 unnumbered pp. titles, indica; the novel on pp. numbered 7-143 (publishers!); 3 end pp. advertising three manor books, inc. mmpbs including "darkening island" christopher priest cat# 12230 $1.25, each page with merkin mail-order form.
