ppint. 6th Mar 2021		title in full is recorded as "omul trucat: si alte istorii ciudate" (the s of "si" has a dependant mark my kybd lacks) which looks like "omul trucat: and other stories (?of the future?)" apparently first labirint printing of this reprint collection of four stories in translation, possibly the first edition maurice renard was a french author, writing in french, so the french original title of the 1921 title novella is given above in the "english title" field; it's about a man blinded in the first world war who has received "electroscopic" artificial eye grafts. one of the other stories included (in translation) is "la singulière destinée de bouvancourt" (1909), there is also an afterword (?) by the translator, ion hobana. 192pp. including titles, indica etc. maurice renard's probably most famous for his story, "les mains d'orlac" ("the hands of orlac'') which has been filmed on multiple occasions, twice(iirc) under the english title, and other variations.
