ppint. 14th Dec 2017		serialised in amazing vol.44 #4, #5; 11/1970, 1/1971° each part with b+w illustration by mike hinge (cover of vol. 44 #4 is by mike hinge but it is untitled) ° this serialisation in a merkin sf magazine would normally exclude the possibility of a first publication in book format before the magazine publication of at least the first installment: however, the publication schedules of ultimate's two titles, amazing and fantastic, had slowed down so rapidly - and somewhat unreliably, that it's possible the ace books first mmpb publication date preceded one or even both of the magazine's two installments.
