Book
Notes 127 pages. The Beat scene of the 60s between Oldenburg, Emden and Wilhelmshaven (Northern Germany). Klitsch examines the music scene of a rural region in which Otto Waalkes also took his first musical steps which, among other things, produced a Low German version of Heartbreak Hote. The book is a vivid documentation of the youth movement and music history of the 1960s away from the big cities. Richly illustrated, it offers an insight into the local beat festivals, the extraordinary events of the Oldenburg student responsibility group, offbeat beat cellars such as the Big Ben Club in Wilhelmshaven or rural beat halls. In addition, most of the bands from the region are portrayed. To accompany the book, Klitsch released a CD, limited to 300 copies, with musical examples of some of the bands documented in the book.
