ppint. 24th Feb 2019		gor #6 of far too many: #1: "tarnsman of gor" (1966), q.v. for series listing, and links. ballantine books near-identical first mmpb printings, first edition, probably sharing merkin-printed covers cover art by gino d'achille (unsigned, credited) cat# 02447 cover price 95¢ 320pp? including titles, indicia etc. refer to indicia to see if carcass (& possibly covers) of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed. no priority established nor liable to be, both stating first printing december 1971 distinguish from ballantine books near-identical second mmpb printings sharing merkin-printed redesigned covers with art cropped to fit within fairly wide white borders, bearing same cat# and sbn cover art by gino d'achille retained from first printings cover price 95¢ 320pp. (check) including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising refer to indicia publishing history to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed no priority established nor liable to be, both stated second printing (december 1972 believed) reference to the above canadian-carcassed printings may have subsequently been accidentally duplicated in the indicia publishing histories of later printings, which appear to start with four merkin and two separately-accounted canadian printings which are allocated slightly different dates from those given above and in the canadian-carcassed copies gino d'achille's cover art & the 95¢ cover price retained through the sixth merkin printing, and the possibly accidentally-doubly-separately-accounted first and second canadadian printings. the cat# changes to 22447 (0-345-22447-7) with the 12/1973 fourth merkin (now random house ballantine books mmpb) printing
