With the family's Kodak Box Brownie, Michael photographed instinctively and captured precious Beatles' moments on film. Paul's consistent request to Michael was, "Make me look famous," and Michael obliged, knowing intuitively that someday he and his subject would not have to pretend.

Lucky for us, Paul's refuge from grief was his guitar and Michael's was his camera.

Michael captures the boys' transition from amateur musicians to potential superstars at the hand of Brian Epstein, who directed them to give up their leather jackets and slicked hair for tailored suits and moptops and, more significantly, decreed the final performance of drummer Pete Best, ushering in Ringo Starr on white drums.
