half an "ace double" format mmpb with two front covers, contents tête-beché to each other

cover art uncredited, unsigned; sfaik as-yet unattributed
cover price 40¢
½ 256pp. including 2 x titles, indicia etc, advertising pp. in-between the double's halves


doubled with "worlds of the imperium" keith laumer, q.v.

"serialized" in amazing vol.34 #3, 3/1960; with b+w illustration by virgil finlay

distinguish from near-identical undated third printing, which differs:

indicia printing history number line drops the digit "2", leaving "3" the lowest number;
end pp. advertising may also differ

(ace books' five-digit cat# should've been increased by one, to 75941, and therefore isbn to 0-441-75941-6; but by now (then), few if any people left at g&d (? from charter communications, even?) remembered how the five-digit cat# system was meant to work...)
