The Beatles In Canada: The Evolution - 1964-1970 picks up where The Beatles In Canada: The Origins of Beatlemania! left off. Between late 1964 and early 1970, the musical evolution of The Beatles had impacted many aspects of social life in the Great White North. In that time, The Beatles had changed the world - and Canada played its own part in that evolution. The Beatles In Canada: The Evolution - 1964-1970 chronicles the events, the recordings and The Beatles' many ties to Canada during the Sixties.

The second volume of The Beatles In Canada series chronicles six years following The Beatles' first tour of Canada in 1964. The group returned to Canada for four more FAB concerts in 1965 and 1966. In a population of 20 million people, hundreds of thousands of Canadian teens were turned on to the music of The Beatles. The Beatles' TV appearances, films and recordings had such a profound influence on young Canadians, whether it was fashion, religion, politics or community. Canadian-manufactured Beatles records were selling in the hundreds of thousands too. Nowhere was their influence greater than on Canada's performing arts and on the new music coming out of Canada. Some of Canada's greatest musicians of the Sixties and Seventies have shared their stories inside this book.

* Sandy Gardiner was the first journalist in North America to write a review of a Beatles disc (Love Me Do, Ottawa Journal, March 1963).

John Brower was the promoter who enticed John Lennon to bring the Plastic Ono Band to Toronto in September 1969.

Ritchie Yorke (RIP) wrote a Foreword for the book before he suddenly passed away in 2017.

JPGR&B SUBS 13th Oct 2024		Latest update from Piers is that he is working on the funding of the book’s printing costs etc. The book is very large and expensive to print, along with the reprints he plans for the earlier RED issue. Once that funding is secured the plan is to go to print early 2025.

JPGR&B SUBS 9th Jun 2023		Latest news from the author today, Friday 9 June 2023: Production of the book has been delayed by a few months so that we can take advantage of some new technology that is being used to enhance many of the images inside the book. This will result in a far superior printed copy. We don't have a revised publishing date yet but it is likely to be late 2023.
