manor books dropped the introduction ted white, the editor of amazing stories as well as of ''the best from amazing stories'', wrote for the book.
ted white published it in either an issue of amazing stories, or via the good offices of sf fan, richard e. geis, in the pages of richard (dick) geis and alter's semi-prozine fanzine, the alien critic/science fiction review.
the stories in the two reprint anthologies ted white edited for manor books were mostly from the pages of the cele goldsmith/cele lalli-edited nineteen fifties-mid nineteen sixties amazing stories and fantastic stories, from before ziff-davis sold the magazines to ted white's employer, sol cohen & his sleeping partner, arthur bernhard's ultimate publishing, inc.
they were to've been followed by anthologies drawn from the stories in the later issues, including those edited by ted white, but this did not happen: i do not know whose decision it was to kill these.
