 ''vargo statten'' was a house name owned by scion ltd. and, after this publisher was taken over by its printers in lieu of unpaid debt, by dragon publications ltd.

it was used inter alia as the name under which the first eleven issues of the vargo statten science fiction magazine was edited, whatever the variant title any given issue appeared under, by alistair paterson during all but the last month of 1954, its first year of publication.
