ppint. 22nd Jun 2019		cover art uncredited, unsigned: attribution to anthony (tony) roberts is through its use on ''le désert des décharnés'' shown and credited in ''aliens in space'' steven caldwell (pseud. of stewart cowley) (1979), q.v.) the futuristic submarine is consistent in the cover art on all three books in the sphere books editions of the trilogy. #1 was reprinted by sphere 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1986 the isbn is from rear cover, but it is incorrect; it may be given correctly in the indica. reprintings bear at least three different isbns between them.



ppint. 23rd Aug 2018		we sold a fair few of these in the dell mmpb summer '75 in single step before sphere books ltd. bought the licence to the uk rights - but nothing like the number compendium, down in camden town, shifted. . . a "fourth book in the trilogy" eventually appeared ("cosmic trigger" robert anton wilson (1977), q.v., subtitled "the final secret of the illuminati"), followed by further tomes in this new *trilogy (!)*, and the historical illuminatus chronicles trilogy, and the illuminati papers, and the masks of the illuminati - all by wilson, solo, q.v.: but i'm not sure anyone's heart was really in these, by then. steve jackson games did derive a brilliant card game from the organisational principles, however. . .
