ursula le guin's by-line on the front cover (as ursula k. le guin) is set in purpley-mauve type far larger than the editorial by-line of virginia kidd's, or the ''and other stories'' - as, indeed, is the title of ursula le guin's novel, now adopted as the greater part of that for the anthology, in a somewhat more somber blue.
whilst this may well have made sense as a commercial decision by collins/granada books' editorial, it is undoubtedly liable to have confused a fair number of people, and will doubtless continue to do so.
''the eye of the heron'' (novel) ursula k. le guin, has also been published since as a stand-alone book, q.v.
and in a double, together with her novel, ''the word for world is forest'', q.v.
