ppint. 23rd Feb 2019		the lord of the rings book one: book one: "the fellowship of the ring" (1954), (this volume) book two: "the two towers" (1954), q.v. book three: "the return of the king" (1955), q.v. also published in omnibus edition: "the lord of the rings" (1968), q.v. cover art and title page b+w art by jack gaughan (credited, also signed with his "jg" monogram) cover price 75¢ 448pp? including titles, indica etc. (no copyright date because ace books' case for publishing the three volumes of "the lord of the rings" was based upon houghton mifflin, the merkin h/cvr publishers, having inadvertently put the work into the public domain by breaking merkin copyright law: a case that was at least debatable - and defensible.)

ppint. 26th Jun 2023		the title in the english language title field should^W has been varied to ''the fellowship of the ring'' upon which, bookcat will automagically sort this translation correctly together with all the other editions (this comment is from another edition of this book)
