ppint. 9th Jun 2022		yr hmbl srppnt. borrowed this from the library - church end prob'ly, possibly arkwright road (or had it moved to swiss cottage by then?) in 1968 - and didn't read it shock, horror !!!° ° - in my defence, my lords, ladies'n'gentlemen, yr hmbl srppnt. was borrowing between twelve and eighteen library books a week, and reading almost all of them - in addition to attempting to listen to every single released in the uk i didn't already know i wasn't interested in, and to at least some tracks on every lp released that week, that i was at least potentially interested in, singing in a choir once a week, and in choir practice one evening a week likewise - and either completing (& taking the exams for) seven o-levels, or starting the first year of three two-year a-level courses, one further o-level course, and an ao-level...° ° - though truth to tell, the ''use of english'' course - and the exam - were a doddle... - oh! - and there was raising money for oxfam, and getting arrested doing the same (with others of the young oxfam group), too... - so sometimes - very occasionally, your honours - the odd library book got returned unread. . .
