ppint. 13th Aug 2018		near-identical editions/printings sharing merkin-printed covers, and hence also cat#, cover art (unsigned, uncredited; sfaik as-yet still unattributed) cover price 95¢. refer to indica to see if the carcass of the copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed. no priority established, nor now liable to be: both include the declaration that they are the first publication of the novel in any form.



ppint. 13th Nov 2017		Review readers of norman spinrad's sf should be aware this is not in fact the novel, "the iron dream": it contains, after a few pages, the complete, uncut and unexpurgated english translation of the 1955 hugo award-winning novel, "the lord of the swastika" by cult sf writer, adolf hitler. . . it is extremely well done, in the sense that it is a horribly convincingly poorly-written rant of a racist, misogynist, and thuggish paean to the limits of the diseased imagination of its putative author. i am not sure it is worth anyone's reading, though it is, i suppose, worth having read it. ppint. 16th Nov 2022		genre: ''humour'' is incorrect and should^W has been deleted: the included novel ''the scourge of the swastika'', fictionally by adolf hitler, is intentionally decidedly unfunny, not at all humorous. (the meanings of the words ''satirical'' and ''funny'' are not identical.) (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 12th Aug 2021		avon books equinox imprint b-format p/b printing cover art by bob haberfield, miscredited as bob habberfield cover price $1.95 ($2.25 in canada) 160pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising undated, save for date of first avon printing: publication date taken from locus 170, 3/1975 n.b. alternative cat#s for merkia and canadada.. ...neither of which are components of the isbn text not re-set for this larger-than-normal merkin pb edition: the avon mmpb setting simply blown up to fit the larger format page - and equinoctial title page, indica, adverts for other titles on the avon equinox science fiction rediscovery series. ppint. 13th Aug 2018		cover art by bob haberfield (unattributed, but re-used on the 1975 avon equinox mmpb, and there credited - with an erroneously doubled "b" in his surname). cover price 40p, australia & new zealand $1.35 so should be re-flagged "international" according to respected moderator's rule 256pp.including titles, indica etc. near-identical 1975 second printing: cover price 50p, later printing, c.1978 cover price 80p, canada $2.50, australia $2.75, new zealand $2.50 includes indica page publishing history line, reprinted 1974 - which may or may not be correct. see avon books 1972 first edition mmpb for review.
