ppint. 9th Feb 2018		pinnacle accounted this blade series book #2 when they republished it in 1973, and reprinted it in 1974.



ppint. 7th Feb 2018		"jeffrey lord" is/was a macfadden books (macfadden-bartell communications, inc.), pinnacle books and sometimes paramount [uk] books house name used on books written as works for hire by various authors: the "property" seems to've been owned by the canadian book packager and sometime editor & author, lyle kenyon engel, q.v., ab initio. the blade series: pulp fantasy, borderline sf featuring richard blade as the ongoing "men's adventure" hero; 1969-1984: #1-7: written by manning lee stokes, q.v. #8-29: written by roland j. green, q.v. #30: written by ray nelson, q.v. #31-37: written by roland j. green, q.v. #1-6 were published in authorised russian translations made by mikhail akhmanov, after which at least a further fifteen or sixteen unauthorised original adventures in russian were commissioned from akhmanov (and other writers working with him) by the russian publishers. the russian "original fakes" have not been translated into english, sfaik. circa six original french language adventures, at least one written by yves chéraqui, have been published as by jeffrey lord; i've no idea whether these were authorised or not. the first fourteen (at least) were published in german translations. circa thirty-two were published in greek translations.
