ppint. 1st Sep 2019		hi jimess: yes, very likelily; it's a combination of economics, and the printer-bookbinder's version of the trade/craft art of origami: a sheet of paper folds from starting with 2 sides, to 4pp, then 8, 16, 32, 64pp. . . . so the cheapest books to print, and to manufacture per page, have some multiple or partial multiple of 32 or 64 pages, depending on the size of the sheet of paper you're printing, and the size of the page you're creating from it. - and they sew together, especially important if the book's being sewn in signatures - or stapled - prior to its being bound. or having paper, or card, covers glued on. "tipped-in" illistrations, colour and b+w plates and photographs are often extras, especially if printed on a superior stock paper: but even they're frequently to be found in sections of a multiple of four pages. and between a whole number of whatever-number-of-page signatures said book is being bound up from. and it's also why some printing errors exhibit their particular periodicity within a copy of a book, and binding errors repeat, omit or accidentally duplicate particular groups (and numbers) of pages.



JimEss SUBS 1st Sep 2019		Number 12 from an edition of 36 10¢ novelettes published by Dell in 1951. The spine is stapled. The pages are unnumbered, but count to 64. Each book in the series reportedly has the same number of pages.
