cover art by ed valigursky (uncredited, unsigned, attribution from the whole sf data base 6)
cover price 35¢
256pp. including titles, indica etc.

indica gives no date of publication nor printing, only copyright date
n.b. despite use of ''double'' in logo, this is a reference to the book's size (pagination), and hence cover price ten cents higher than that which had long been the merkin mmpb standard 25¢; this book is not an ''ace double'' in the sense of containing two separate novels, novellas or novelettes conjoined in one binding.

second sphere books printing or second cover on part of sphere books first p/b edition 1972°

near-identical with first, save for:

field bearing ''sphere science fiction classic'' reversed out, and colour of author's surname, is a yellower, rather than a ruddier orange
australian and kiwiiiian cover prices corrected from 1.00c to $1.00
should be re-flagged "international" according to respected moderator's rule
- or not so re-flagged, according to equally well-respected moderator's heartfelt plea
cat# changed to 87718

see sphere books first p/b edition, cat# 87661

° - check indica publishing history for presence/absence of a line stating ''reprinted 1972'' as indication of its being a reprinting rather than a (partial) re-covery.

cover art by bruce pennington (uncredited, unsigned, collected in ''ultraterranium'' pennington and nigel suckling (1992), q.v.)
''sphere science fiction classics'' line dropped from front cover
cover price 65p,
224pp. including titles, indica etc.

indica publishing history needs checking: it's reported as listing the first sphere books edition as 1970, which is wrong, and lists no 1972 printing (there should be one or two 1972 printings listed). 1970 was the publication date of the dennis dobson ltd. uk h/cvr.
