fifth book in the original fafhrd & gray mouser series, and the only full-length novel in it - until later extensions to the series were written by fritz leiber (and one authorised, but not published 'til after his death, by robin wayne bailey).

incorporates the full text of the novella, "scylla's daughter" (fantastic (fan) 5/1961) as chapters 2-6 inclusive, with cover art by vernon kramer.

ppint. 19th Jun 2019		according to ''bookcat'' habit, publisher should be - and now is - the imprint mayflower - as per the cover. cat# does not include the (i)sbn checksum digit - but granada publishing had all-but ceased using the basic bare cat# anyway, by then.
