David Whiteley ● 12th Nov 2020		ppint. There are actually four Quartet UK printings. I own two from 1974. On the back cover they both have UK prices 40p, The other prices are the same as well. The only difference between the two is that the second 1974 book states: Published by Quartet Books Limited 1974 Reprinted 1974. (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 11th Nov 2020		quartet books uk p/b first printing, not first uk p/b edition all four quartet books printings share the one isbn, 0-7043-1085-6: the first three are near-identical: 1974 first quartet books p/b printing cover art by patrick woodroffe (unsigned, credited on back cover) cover price 40p, australia & new zealand $1.40, canada $1.50 indica publishing history states published by quartet books limited 1974 160pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising near-identical 1974 second quartet books p/b printing: differs only in adding the line, reprinted 1974, to the indica printing history near-identical 1975 third quartet books p/b printing cover art by patrick woodroffe retained cover price 50p, australia & new zealand $1.65, canada $1.95 indica printing history adds line: reprinted 1975 but this and/or fourth printing drop the line, reprinted 1974 160pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising 1976 fourth quartet books p/b printing severely crops cover art by patrick woodroffe, setting it on a pale, subdued orange field which bears the typography above the cover art, with arms of the field to either side of the art cover price 60p, canada $1.75 160pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising this printing appeared after distribution of quarter books' a format p/bs was shifted from the book service (who retained distribution of quartet books hardcovers, ''midway editions'', yp/bs) and bears the new distributor futura publications' sf & f orbit logo, top lefthand corner front cover, but retains quartet books' logo and quartet books' publisher's details on back cover, title p, indica etc. it was distributed with an initially peelable, round-cornered white square label bearing quartet books' ''upper-case q-like-a-2'' logo on the front cover, placed over the orbit logo.
