ppint. 15th Mar 2018		gormenghast trilogy #1 #1: "titus groan" (1946), (this novel) #2: "gormenghast" (1950), q.v. #3: "titus alone" (1959), q.v. mervyn peake intended to write further novels, but died before he was able to do more than make notes towards the first of these. a three-page fragment, apparently the largest coherent such that could be found amongst his papers, was later posthumously published. the three novels/trilogy were later issued in sturdy card slip-case as well as separately, by methuen paperbacks/abp/mandarin in the uk and also in a one-volume omnibus p/b, entitled variously: #O: "gormenghast", or "the gormenghast trilogy", or "the gormenghast novels", q.v.



ppint. 30th Mar 2024		also distributed as the trilogy in a colour-printed paper-covered slipcase, illustrated from the mmpb set covers which are thirds of the one painting by bob pepper, signed "pepper" at first this slipcase bore no sbn nor price. a later printing of this slipcase bears sbn 345•23525•8 of its own printed upon it.
