 #1 of the fifty-odd sub-burroughsian sword'n'spaceship series published under the pseudonym of "alan burt akers" (a few arguably as by akers & "dray prescot", the fictional hero), written by long-time fan and british sf writer, ken bulmer, q.v. (whose fiction was also published as by henry kenneth bulmer, h. k. bulmer, h. kenneth bulmer, kenneth bulmer, and under many pseudonyms, including various house names.)

first four uk p/bed by futura publications 11/1974-5/1975 with covers by chris achilleos, as per this edition of #1, but sales were evidently not convincing.
