ppint. 18th Apr 2024		first published year date is^W was wrong and should^W has been corrected to 1952 this is the first book publication, and the first publication of the novel. no h/cvr edition of this novel was published by *anyone* in 1948, and certainly not by street & smith. (a shorter version saw magazine serialization as "i could kill you" in the shadow magazine in 1948)
