publication history of these FASA corporation - nal/penguin group usa co-publications is complicated, with both corporations distributing the books, the one to the games shops and the other to the mass market paperback stands via news wholsalers, and to bookshops.
iirc FASA corporation initially published some, if not all, of the books in their own standard mmpb format sizes bearing cat#s that were game / game accessories catalogue part numbers, and which bore their own isbns.
the joint/competing distribution streams did not prove entirely satisfactory to the penguin group usa, and the catalogue of battletech, earthdawn and shadowrun role-playing game spin-off novels was eventually split between the two publishers, with the penguin group retaining an international licence to publish particular titles for a time, and the others reverting to sole distribution by FASA corporation and their primarily games wholesalers.
since at latest the first year of the 21st century, FASA corporation has again licenced the rights to novels spun off from its games, the battletech series novels to roc/the penguin group usa/random penguin usa
