ppint. 26th Feb 2023		author's name should^W has been varied to ''harry turtledove'' harry turtledove returned to this world and the character of gerin the fox in 1994 after jim baen collected the two short novels published under this pseudonym in one omnibus mmpb published under his real name; the editor at belmont tower had decided this name would be unbelievable to the sf & fantasy buyers at the news wholesalers and mmpb distributors, and required him to come up with a nordic-sounding pen-name. . .



ppint. 28th Nov 2017		first half of "gerin the fox" #1. second half published as "werenight", q.v. later published together with the second half, as "werenight", in 1994 also combined as "wereblood", but under his normal by-line, as by harry turtledove, q.v. (and under which by-line the rest of the series then followed.)



ppint. 26th Feb 2023		unknown publisher trojan publications trojan books imprint undated p/b first printing, first uk edition probapossibly unauthorised by the author, harry turtledove, or his agent, and possibly by belmont tower, whose mmpb typesetting it copies - with minor adjustments - down to mis-spelling the author's pseudonym's first name as ''erik'' on the title page. cover art by boris vallejo (signed, uncredited; re-used from dell books mmpb of ''the ice schooner'' michael moorcock (1978), q.v.) cover price £1.50, R 2.75 south africa, $5.95 australia, $4.50 canada 144pp. (check) including titles, indicia (ha!) etc, end pp. no cat#, no (i)sbn, no printing nor publication date given in indica publication date taken from steven h. silver at stevenhsilver.com/elabon.html i know of no reason to suppose that this edition was ever circulated through the uk book trade as a new title for sale at the printed cover price, rather than as an instant remainder - nor in any of the overseas territories for which it further bears purported prices (this comment is from another edition of this book)
