@Lee Wrecker
Hi Lee,as you may know,i've been banging on about this for ages,and personally.if a Cat.No./secondary Cat.No. differs in any way,even if it's only a difference between the spacing between numbers (even if those numbers are the same),then i always enter it separately,if it differs from one already on the database,under the country it was intended for,that was/is the whole purpose of spaces/hyphens/dashes etc.,they weren't typo's,they were put there deliberately to differentiate between different countries releases,and yes,i can imagine that there are many other similar entries on the site,where the differences have not been taken into account,and are currently under the "International" banner,needlessly IMHO.
I'll put in a correction request for this one,for the Moderators consideration.
@gregs45s
Well, I agree entirely with your summation and think that these should be split and Australian and EU entries should be created. Now, I'm not sure what happened after Warners got EMI and Parlophone (except the Beatles) but throughout this period when EMI controlled Parlophone the Australian sec. cat #s were all a single string with no spacing. So all Australian Parlophone CDs will need to be separated up to the Warners takeover in 2013 because they will all have this characteristic. Should I send a correction?

Hi guys,there are two different releases here,an Australian and a European issue,they differ by not having the same secondary Cat.No.
1/ Australian (only) release (Lee's) - 0946 311688 2 6 / 3116882
2/ European (only) release (tc-630's) - 0946 311688 2 6 / 311 6882 (UK)
So they need to be separated,as they are different,neither were intended for release in any other countries.the devil is in the detail here,as with most CD releases,the spacing between the Cat.No's always (pretty much:) indicates a different country allocation.
The important thing to note here is that these two are "copy protected" releases,the Cat.No's ending in "2 6",whereas the other standard non-copy protected European release on the site ends in a "2 0",
so theses two "copy protected"releases need to be separated,and each have their own entries (so that currently on the site,we will end up with 2 copy protected,1 non-copy protected,and one special edition)
you see don't i ;)
Lee, I can only speak for myself.... I truly believe the international category is confusing and causing items to be added again and again. We must try to make the best out of it and the way you describe it comes pretty close to my thoughts. And that's not even the greatest problem on the database: what do you think of having the UK as a part of Europe, of creating a myriad of labels: Sony, Sony Music, Sony BMG, Sony BMG international, Sony BMG / Columbia for the same thing. There's lots and lots of work to be done.
A question for Leonard or anyone else that's interested. Is the current feeling on the site that releases such as this - where local (national) issues of CDs not intended for export or other markets be listed as from that market. For instance the Australian copy of this CD has the same details (sec. cat#s are different though) as the EU release but clearly neither was intended for the other market and therefore they should be entered as from where their intended markets are namely, Australia and Europe. Or am I barking up the wrong tree as usual.
I kind of like the idea proposed above and have seen that some MODS are starting to move in this direction too. It just makes more sense when it comes to posting an item in CD World and collating a relevant database. Furthermore it is much easier and a lot less confusing. Hopefully, we can get some consent for what seems to be a more logical way to go about things in the multi-national world we live in.
Thought I'd got away with that but I'll pick it up on my next round of scans tomorrow Leonard I might even do the booklet as well it's good to look at and not to huge.
