A useful site here(there are a just a few lists here under "Unofficial Resources",Musik Sammler is not a bad one). They appear on many CD's,and can be used to confirm a label,so can sometimes be useful.however just because they are German in origin, that doesn't always mean that the CD has been anywhere near Germany or indeed Europe, there are many cases of CD's that still use the label code even though the booklet/artwork and CD may have been solely made/printed in say the UK or Australia,So i wouldn't use it as a country identifier, but it can be handy if the label isn't obvious on the artwork or Disc.I have seen a few with two label codes also.Hope that's of some help :)
Label code, for royalty collection from German radio play. (I think my understanding is correct - someone please advise if it is not). I'm not sure that the presence of a label code necessarily means that the particular disc is released in Germany - it sometimes appears on Aussie pressings, where it has absolutely no relevance.
"Slipcase" finally found (now that I know what the term means) and barcode added.
One thing I've noticed about the slipcases for these UK Toofers is that they all have some secondary code of "LC 00881" near the barcode. Does anyone know what this is in 45Worlds terminology ... a "series" ... a "secondary Cat#" ....?
Something I've just noticed is that image 1026755 features Ricky Owens (ex-Vibrations) in the middle. He didn't survive his probationary period with the group (kept screwing up on stage, according to Otis Williams in his book) and I'm not sure that he ever actually recorded. He was replaced by Damon Harris.
Sorry Roger, didn't get that one either as I already had the US 2-on-1. In fact, I didn't buy any of the Tempts' UK 2-on-1's, as US Motown at the time were rematering and reissuing the albums singly, and I was intending to get those, but other reissues took priority, and because I already had them on LP's, a few CD's, and the EMPERORS OF SOUL box, they were continually put on the back burner. I'm not even sure that those remasters are still in print.
No sign of any barcode PhilMH, so I suspect that it was on some outer packaging that got binned as soon as I got my grubby little hands on this.
I don't suppose you have the "Whole Lot A Soul"/Live At The Copa" toofer in this series? It is the only Temptations CD left for me to enter but I seem to have mislaid the booklet. With that one there was some kind of mix-up in that they missed off the studio version of "You're My Everything" from the "Whole Lot A Soul" tracks as (presumably) they thought it duplicated the "Live" version from the Copa set.
At the moment I'm holding off entering the "Whole Lot A Soul"/Live At The Copa" toofer, hoping the booklet will turn up.
23rd October 2000 says Don't Forget The Motor City. Roger, I didn't buy this one, but if it's like the others in the series, the barcode is on the underside of the slipcase.
