Soundtrack
"Orchestral adaptation of music composed for the motion picture by Vangelis"
Record production and musical direction by Jack Elliott co-produced by Hank Cicalo
Standard (album) CD case with dark grey tray
8 page booklet
Curious,I think this is the original release from the 1982 Blade Runner movie,
i.e,this must have come first,as the Vangelis release/version did not get released until 1994,
either on LP or CD.
Truth be told,i didn't know that, and have always assumed the Vangelis release was the "official" soundtrack version to accompany the film, whereas it appears that he composed the soundtrack, which was then performed by the New American Orchestra, and yet, i thought the soundtrack was by/performed by Vangelis in the original movie,or was it the New American Orchestra? or have i got this completely wrong,in which case ,ignore all of the above;)
(Check that - i didn't read Discogs notes : "This is not the original soundtrack recording, but was produced and released as the official album from the film;as from the liner notes : "The production of the subsequent soundtrack album,as well as musical direction, was handled by renowned composer and conductor Jack Elliott (....)".
(Discogs has this particular example as a re-issue,and not an original 1982 release)
