I raised this question of Varese Sarabande and Varese Vintage in the Forum about 3 weeks ago (13 Aug 2014), and have received NO replies or comments. So I have continued adding my CD's to the Varese Vintage database, until instructed otherwise.
On their website,

It appears that Varese Sarabande is the main company, and Varese Vintage is its pop re-issue series. But both are the same company, so I feel that both databases should be combined to avoid confusion or dual entries, and to display a more complete discography. Most of the CD's that I own have the Varese Sarabande logo with Varese Vintage printed below on the labels and back covers. The "Sarabande" releases seem to be mostly soundtrack re-issues, and the "Vintage" releases are pop and rock collections.
Unfortunately, some contributors to CD World do not add back covers or label images that would show the "vintage" designation.
