Syd Vliet 24th May 2014		That's a good link, thanks. Have added a scan of the disc. The booklet is 16 pages but is not very interesting, plain text - half of it in Japanese and then the song lyrics in English.



TopPopper 24th May 2014		I found this guide I haven't read through it meticulously, but it seems the markings H-3-1 are the release date. H means 1986, so that dates it to 1st March, 1986. The other numbers with the X in front seem to have something to do with it not being allowed for rental, presumably until that date - so this one can't be rented out until Feb 28, 1987. Timeless II and Golden Beatles also have the release H, meaning they are 1986 too.



Syd Vliet 24th May 2014		"Timeless II" has '87-7-20' on the back but I bought that one on 5th December 1986. "Golden Beatles" has ''87-2-28' but that was my first ever CD purchase on 26th August 1986. The "Timeless II" disc itself has (P)1985, as does "Live at the Star Club" whilst "Silver Beatles" has (P)1982 but the sleeve notes in Japanese are signed off 'Nov 1985'. I don't know what those numbers on the back mean but they absolutely 100% do not refer to the release date.



TopPopper 24th May 2014		They do look very much like a date. I just looked at a couple of other Japanese CDs on the site - Blondie ones - and they too have an apparent date, which does correspond to the release year. Bit of a strange one if this is 1986.

Syd Vliet 6th May 2014		Some Decca Audition compilations were apparently re-mixed, with certain tracks artificially lengthened, but I think this one is untampered with.
