RogerFoster 25th Jan 2016		Review One of a set of highly dubious releases of Cameo Parkway material that slipped out around 2002 courtesy of some entrepreneurial types hoping to cash in on the fact that at the time the owners of the Cameo-Parkway catalogue were refusing to release any of their material on CD. No contact details, no barcode, no sleeve notes, no writer/production credits, a rough representation of the original Cameo "Cameo-Logo", a label name that is not totally dissimilar to Cameo-Parkway, as I said ... highly dubious. I'm not sure how many releases CamPark managed to put out. I have the three volumes that were aimed at the "Northern Soul" market and the catalogue numbers imply there were at least 6 others. Musically it is standard "Northern Soul" fare ... Uptempo/Midtempo mid 1960's Pop, Soul and R&B, some good, some not so good. Interestingly the packaging has a warning that "Unauthorized duplication or reproduction of this sound recording or packaging is prohibited." ...
