Wham Rap! (Unsocial Mix) is actually standard "Fantastic" LP Version AKA 12'' Mix - (Special U.S. Re-Mix) not (Unsocial Mix)
On some pressings the CD plays Careless Whisper instead of Young Guns.

| | It's irrelevant where it was in the stores Helen! After hearing the pronunciation of Lenny Kravitz on Dutch radio I decided to put it also under the G. Never regretted that..... |

| | It was released as album at the time, in every store it was in the album section, the entire series was in the albums section in the stores. So, mysterie solved :-p |

| | Hi Magic, there was no vinyl equivalent for this as far as I can see, only the tape ("The 12" Tape") and CD ("The 12" Mixes") versions. I imagine that Platterlog compiled their listing from a release sheet provided by CBS Records Australia, so if that sheet said these were albums..... The Discogs entry for this shows the playing times for the tracks, and the total time would be somewhere around 32-33 minutes, so on that basis it qualifies as an album (some acknowledged albums in prior decades were under 30 minutes).
(Just as a tangent, I would love to know who owns the Platterlog catalogue data now, and whether they are doing anything with it; I suspect that I don't have anything near the necessary readies to buy it off them, though!). |

| | Well if CBS / Epic says it's an album, then it's an album! :D
Food for thought though....If this didn't have that catalogue number system to identify it as such, would you still call it an album?
(Also, is there a vinyl equivalent, and if so, is that called an album or a 12" single / EP... How is that catalogued?) |

| | Like leonard, I would have said album rather than single because of the catalogue number starting with 4 (CBS' convention then for albums) rather than 6 (singles), but looking at Platterlog for 5th December 1988, there were several 12" mix CDs and cassettes released that week, and all listed in the albums update, but several of them have catalogue numbers starting with 6 as well as a few with 4, so it looks like CBS didn't have much idea what they were doing! |

| | Indeed, it looked like a single / EP due to the track count and remix / version content, but the artwork design did look a little too album-ish, so wasn't sure. |

| | Looks can be deceiving Magic. I'm with leonard and Redpunk and think this is an album. |

| | This is the previous discussion https://www.45worlds.com/45worlds/45w_forum_topic_view.php?t=90050&h=p90333#p90333 on what is a CD single the rough guide is up to 4 different tracks equals a single / 5 different tracks or more is a album though as always exceptions occur.
In this case it seems to be a collection of 12" singles not a promotion for a single track release which would put it into the album camp. |
