| | This is true Phil, but the original image submissions don't show Parlophone. Only EMI. |

PhilMH SUBS 22nd May 2023
| | Image 2276882 shows the company name Parlophone Records Ltd., which makes it a release after the sale of some of EMI to Universal in 2013 - PRL is EMI Records Ltd. renamed. And for once Discogs is correct - if an EMI logo appears above, below, or beside another logo, that other logo is the only label, and the EMI logo just indicates that the other label is part of the EMI group; even Capitol releases in the USA showed either the EMI box logo or the earlier record-and-globe logo on the covers (and in some countries, like Australia for instance, the local EMI company even sometimes slapped the logo on Tamla Motown releases, a catalogue that EMI only licensed and didn't own). |

Magic Marmalade 21st May 2023
| | I'm sorry but my brain just exploded.
>Please stand by<
:)
I do feel this exactly the kind of crap that saw the end of EMI.
I'll have a think about this - leaning more toward the two separate entries scenario, as a label is a substantial difference - especially as I don't think I see Parlophone anywhere on the EMI one - torpedoing the discogs assertion that it's "not a label".
(Will look again tomorrow, with fresh eyes) |

| | :) Which came first the chicken or the egg;)
Unsure MM, this from Discogs "Please note, many Parlophone issues also carry an EMI logo. This is not a label and EMI should not be added as a label, it instead indicates that Parlophone was part of the EMI Group."
So, perhaps the label here should read "Parlophone / EMI"?, or create two entrys?, i'll leave it in your capable hands ;)
(i have seen a few similar CD's) |

Magic Marmalade 21st May 2023
| | Why would there be two separate label versions released at the same time with all the same details?
Is this when Parlophone folded, or was folded into EMI?
...In which case, one must have come before the other, surely? |

gregs45s SUBS 20th May 2023
| | I think images 2276882 and 2277661 and 2277662 are of the Parlophone release, and, as such, will need a new separate entry.
(i don't know what image 2277654 is of, as it doesn't seem to match the Parlophone front cover?) |
