 Oops PhilMH, you are correct about three members having changed by 1973. I'd forgotten about Paul Williams, presumably as he died rather than went solo, and to think that I'm a fully paid up member of Nit-Pickers Anonymous. (Hangs his head in shame).

You'd have thought that the people responsible for issuing Motown would have realised by the early 1990s that this sort of error wouldn't go down well with the fans. Fortunately more recent releases (Hip-O etc. etc.) have paid much better attention to detail.

 HI Roger, I suspect that the package and photo originated from Motown US, the text at the bottom of the photo is in the same layout as some US Motown issues - and in fact three members of the group had changed by 1973, with David Ruffin, Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks being replaced by Dennis Edwards, Richard Street and Damon Harris respectively.

 Interesting that the whiz-kids at Motown Europe used a photo of The Temptations taken circa 1966/7 to illustrate these 1973 recordings, as by that time two of the group members had changed. Hmmmmm
